Mega Post: Goodbye McDonald's

I appoligize for the LARGE post of photos, but I couldn't decide on just a
few :-)

Today I was able to watch a beloved childhood location be destroyed. I am very sentimental so I'm sure some of you won't understand. It was fascinating and heartbreaking. When I got there I was really anxious to see how long it would take for it go up in flames...but when it started to smoke, I felt my eyes welling up with tears.

It seemed like the whole town of Mooresville was there and there was not a shortage of well known people or familiar faces.

It smoked for what seemed like forever then all of a sudden you could see the flames coming out of the roof. We stayed in the front at first, then we headed to the back where they had started the fire. At one point the smoke was so black they had to stop traffic because no one could see to drive thru it. The fire was so hot we coudln't stay in one place for long.

In just a couple short months the old McDonald's will be replaced by a new, modern McDonald's. Until then, the empty spot will be just a reminder of what once stood there.
